Taking their name from the Swedish word for The Milky Way, Vintergatan is the four-piece collective of comprised of multi-instrumentalists Evelina Hägglund, Martin Molin, Marcus Sjöberg and David Zandén. With an experimental air of post-rock feel, “Sommarfågel” (lit. summer bird) the first of their efforts, is a wonderful medley of sounds that the band has assembled ranging from music boxes, accordions to the plethora of synthesizers the band has scattered across their vast collection of instruments. Not much is known about the band at the moment, but Vintergatan do expect to be working on their debut album due spring 2013 mentioned in their self-directed music video which follows with a behind-the-scenes look at the video production.
