Vinny Peculiar , famously christened the Tony Hancock of pop by UNCUT MAGAZINE, is the pseudonym of Alan Wilkes; a Manchester based performance poet and songwriter who’s bands have vicariously included members of the Smiths, the Fall and OASIS. He’s toured the theatres and concert halls of Europe opening for the likes of Arab Strap and The Divine Comedy and is a regular compere/performer on the Glastonbury Festival Acoustic Stage. Vinny has created soup-art with Bill Drummond, made films with Tom Robinson and produced records by tompaulin.
