The Petralia lives his artistic career in a world still marked on the organ between creativity-theatrical symphonic organ, organ-supported orchestra, and the renewal of both organ, is the organ which was one of the most tenacious and staunchest supporters, along with the nascent movement Ceciliano . Despite a somewhat troubled and contradictory time for the music of ' organ Italian, he tried to implement his ideal of reform of sacred music while respecting the tradition of Italian organ, still tied to an orchestral instrumentation, understanding that it was not yet ripe to take the revolutionary activities of construction as was already the case, however, in many other European countries. At the same time, you can never be completely folded to the use of the transcripts opera of his own time, and in the period of maturity married conviction a style quite severe.
