"Allow me to re-introduce myself, my name is Vince," spits the fiery Vincent Lane in one of his random freestyles, and he means it. More than a line borrowed from one of his idols (Jay-Z), that statement has a lot of meaning to this 28 year old emcee who started out rapping under the name Herm. "My nickname is Herm, actually most of my peoples call me that, because it was a childhood nickname," says Vince, "and when I started rapping it just felt comfortable to use that name." Herm (now Vincent Lane) developed his skills making music along side one of his best friends named Peek, and together Herm & Peek co-founded various groups and made a plethora of music for fun. When Herm graduated college back in 2002, he decided to take a shot at his dream co-founding a rap group called The UN, and switched his name to Herm Dizzle, alongside two other emcees. The UN toured for about 9 months playing sold out shows alongside National Hip-Hop acts like Kia, Skillz, The Big Tymers, 50 Cent, Truth Hurts, Ja Rule, Slum Village, Eve, B-Rich, Memphis Bleek, Cam'ron, Freeway, Kid Capri & Sean Paul. During their 9 month stint, they managed to put together around 40 songs for an album that was to be titled UNtitled, but due to a group mishap, Herm Dizzle decided it would be in his best interest to leave the group he helped create.
