Vimana Cult is the side project of Pensacola, Florida based industrialists Mod Eschar of Finite Automata and Jason Beatty of Transfer Case in mid 2010. The Name is derived from ancient sanskrit references to flying saucers and temples called Vimana. The project is driven by Beatty's overwhelming drive to produce and Eschar's desire to break away from his previous affiliations in Finite Automata; and instead focus on sound experimentation and manipulation. The group cites the works of Severed Heads, Leæther Strip, and Negativland as a few of their foremost influences. To date the duo has composed a number of fast paced ebm-style demos written during composition sessions at Eschar's studio in Pensacola, Florida.
