Dispite it's scorching heat and barron soil, the natives of the island have been able to survive centuries of inbreeding since the arrival of their distant ancestors. It has been almost 200 years since a small vessel of wealthy englishmen and their wives set sail for a secret island which was said to have sand made of pearls, and moutains of solid gold. Upon their arrival, hungry and tired, they were amazed to see that the story was true, and they rolled naked in the pearls and embrased giant mountains of gold. With much labor, they loaded as much of their new fortune as they could into their tiny vessel, and set sail for home. As luck would have it, the boat didn't make it 20 feet of shore before collpsing under the wieght of its precious cargo. The passengers, the treasure, and all their possesions went tumbling into the sea. Years went by, and the idea of rescue was forgotten. With the few supplies they had from the boat, the passengers were able to live minimally. The climate was harsh, food was scarce, and the island was infested with common housflies, who's larvae had hatched in their clothes. As more years passed, like the houseflies, the passengers mated and multiplied. As generations passed, the island became the only reality, and the gold and pearls that left lured them there became nothing more than sand and stone.
