Vida Killz is a female hip hop/rap/indie artist born and raised in San Jose, a suburban area in the California’s Bay Area. She says, “My passion in life is art, music being my main love”. With two self-produced albums (Transformation: Reflections for Self and Memoirs), and a third on the way, Vida Killz wants to make her mark in the music business. Although she plays guitar, she enjoys writing lyrics and rhyming the most. Influenced by acts such as, The Temptations, Common, Talib Kweli, Erykah Badu, Jean Grae, Mos Def, Aretha Franklin and Slug, to name a few. Vida Killz has been performing around her native, Bay Area at different venues including: Johnny V’s, South First Billiards, Silicon Valley De-Bug, Empire7 Studios, Delta of Venus, The Native Suns Hall, Magnet: Aids Foundation and Blue Lagoon. She has also appeared on Local SheTV (Palo Alto, CA) and did an interview for Santa Clara University's student radio. “I see this art form as one of the most highly vital musical outlets. I am inspired to grow my being with each song I make, with intents to create a powerful, life altering experience when heard by others…I aim to create connections near and far.” Currently, she is working on a collaborative EP with G.R.I.E.F 78 and an LP.
