Victims Of The Purge was brought together in mid 2005 with Corey Marshall (bass), Phil Hanson (lead guitar) and Evan Barrett (drums). At the time, Evan was playing guitar for the band, as that was the initial plan, but when the dilemma of needing a drummer came up they thought it to be best that Evan moved to drums (although he had never played drums before in his life). After about a month or two Evan got a hold of a guy he had heard could do the vocal style the band was looking for from a couple of people, that person was Stefan Wood (vocals). The four started to jam a bit getting together a couple of covers just to get use to playing with each other and get Evan use to the drums (who was doing amazing given that he had never played drums before). After about one or two jams, the four still felt like something was missing from the band they had started, and after some time (Couple days) they found another band mate that they thought would complete the band... And they were right. Matt Hashey (rhythm guitar) entered the band and in a big way with co writing a lot of material musically and lyrically as well. Even though the band was together there was still one thing that was missing, the name.
