Very Nice Harry is an indie rock band from Didcot, UK formed in 2009. The lineup consists of Sam McNeill (vocals, guitar), Darryl Richardson (guitar), Mark Grafton (bass) and Pete Mercer (drums). The band cite some diverse influcences which give their sound a unique flavour. Elements of The Arctic Monkeys, Foals, and Oasis are spattered with ska beats and heavy metal riffs. After building a loyal fanbase in their hometown playing cover sets, the band wrote and recorded their first original material at the end of 2009. A little over 2 weeks later, the demo of Tragic Tale of a Holiday Romance won over the Introducing panel on BBC Radio Berkshire where it scored the highest overall points from the judges. 2010 was a busy year for Very Nice Harry. The band put a lot of energy into breaking onto the Oxford music scene where the frequent gigging earned them an increase of exposure and acclaim. The band also spent time in the studio writing and recording new material for their ever expanding setlist, such as the anthemic Olivia Stone and experimental Jabberwocky. The band's debut EP entited Sugar Lounge EP' was officially launched on 14/11/2010 at the Wheatsheaf, Oxford, and is given away at gigs.
