Veronica Powell, born in Jamaica West Indies, and the second eldest of six children born to Winniefred Eliza Medova Phillip and Adolphus Thomas Lewis. Veronica is married and the mother of three beautiful girls. She was raised in the church and demonstrated her God given talent in singing as a lead vocaliist in church choir for the upbuilding of the Kingdom of God. Veronica was later priviledged to carry her musical career internationally and locally. In 1989 she migrated to the United States in search of a better life. She enrolled in Interboro Institute and graduated fifteen months later Magna Cum Laude Associate in Accounting. She continued her studies by enrolling in John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration, and is also a certified Cosmetologist. Ms. Powell has worked with the New York City Transit Authority in the Accounts Payable Department and in the Law Department as a Workers Compensation Benefit Examiner. She is currently gainfully employed with the School Board of Polk County as a substitute teacher. Ms. Powell's early exposure to gospel music initiated her desire to become a recording artist. In 1999 she produced her first album, titled Mama Prayed and wrote her first book Poems in Depth. In 2003, she produced a compilation of four CDS titled Zion Praise, Gospel Fever, and Africa. Her aim is to inspire young people to stir their gifts, and stand firm in the liberty which the Lord has given them.
