Aarhus, Denmark (2015 - present) Simon Rødgaard performs as solo artist and composer on his project “Vergo”. The music is best described as Indie Rock/Post Punk but with a darker vibe. Vergo is a personal "Dr. Jekyll og Mr. Hyde" experiment. Simon has always been drawn to the metal genre but has also always produced songs “on the side” besides his involvement as vocalist in many different semi-known metal bands (Fairytale Abuse, Die, Downpitch, Alpha). The music for Vergo has been about “a need” for something else, to experiment and to make what is completely his own style - and in some difficult times, creating the music was therapy for him. The music was always intended for personal use only. But the later years he felt that Vergo matured more and with the help of a good friend, musical tech expert and sound engineer, Max Phithorsn, it became clear that he wanted to put it online to try out how it is received. Max did the mixing and mastering of the published songs. So, creating Vergo was not a choice because the music was always there anyway. The real choice was to go public with it.
