Velvet Vega is a Post-punk/Electro-punk/Darkwave duo from Livorno (IT). The band consists of Chiara Lucarelli (lead vocals, synths) and Francesco Sorgente (guitar, programming), that after leaving their previous project, decide to move on a new one, much more representative of their new sound. During summer 2018 they enter in the studio with Niccolò Mazzantini (Appaloosa) to produce their first full-lenght album “Collapsing”, released via Swiss Dark Nights label. “Collapsing”, the debut album from the italian band Velvet Vega, will be released on November 30th, via Swiss Dark Nights (CDs and digital platforms). The homonym first single, with its powerful synth and guitar riffs, is highly explosive, dynamic and it shouts loud the pain of living in an increasingly detached world. The entire album is a self-exploration into the deepest and darkest emotions and insecurities. It also express the awareness of living with “monsters” inside and outside us, representing a sort of catharsis at the same time. “Collapsing” was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Orfan Record Studio by Niccolò Mazzantini (Appaloosa). He skilfully mixed the band's sound using analog synths and drum machines, giving a deeper and more powerful sound to the album.
