Velvet Doomsday is a Second Wave Goth-Rock band that was formed one fateful day in late summer 2014. The project rose from the ashes of the now-defunct Mondo Golem (2007-2012) and KellerPassion (2007-? indefinite hiatus). With nothing but pure ambition, the love for experimentation and some makeshift-equipment its two protagonists set out to reach for dead stars. The band has since been through two incarnations. In summer 2016, Velvet Doomsday was joined by guitarist Die Kaiserin and percussionist Wölfin. The lineup lasted for one energetic and highly acclaimed gig at the legendary Viennese event Totentanz. The again to-be duo was recently joined by violinist Chori de la Gárgola, who had her debut in an intense, semi-Impromptu performance that has been described as "wonderfully claustrophobic". With Relttas's droning bass, Finster's morbid crooning and Chori's mourning violin, Velvet Doomsday are here to stay and sing sweet songs of lillies and remains.
