"I want to be a rock star!" You heard this when you're six and seven years old, perhaps you've even said it yourself. For 20 year old Bryan Sheard, these words are more of a calling than an elementary whim. Sheard, also known by the moniker Vanity Kills, has some pretty big dreams. "I want to make music for the rest of my life," exclaims Sheard. "This is it for me, there is no Plan B." Using Vanity Kills as a mantle to promote himself and his music, Sheard intends to do just that; with new songs written as frequently as twice a week, it's safe to assume that music is what he DOES. Vanity Kills is the brainchild of Sheard, a Chicagoland native, created with the goal of taking music to a whole new level. "I want to bring passion back into the system that has done so much to captivate the world," he says. "I drive around listening to pop, and even some rock and country radio stations today and most of it seems cold and lifeless--cookie cutter. I want to try and break out of that mold." Citing influences as diverse as classical masters like Beethoven and Bach, modern hip-hop, trance, and pop music, Vanity Kills is electropop, love, space, and time travel all rolled into one, with a side order of "baller status". "Baller status," he chuckles. "I say that a lot. I don't try to hide who I am.
