Valence refers to a number of artists: 1. Valence was born in Germany, raised in a german-portuguese household. His introduction to music came in the form of classical piano lessons and jazz music. At age 14, he started composing songs on his laptop, uploading songs to his Youtube for fun. In 2017, 'Infinite' was signed to NCS, propelling the song to over 20 million plays. In the same year, he remixed Halsey's 'Gasoline,' which similarly gained traction in the internet EDM scene. With the releases of 'Little World' and the "Changes EP," Valence debuted his own vocals for the first time, combining forward thinking production with a new indie/alternative synthpop style. The following releases saw a series of collaborations with Sirius Plain, TRIIZZY and most notably the duet "Soulmate / Your Name" and the "NOT A DOLL" EP with singer and songwriter KASHEEEY. 2. Valence is singer-songwriter Vincent Dufour’s excuse to celebrate the mess of his twenties. It is an amalgam of daydreams and brightly colored nostalgia. Originally from Quebec City, it’s in his apartment in the Saint-Sauveur district that he writes and composes intimate and vigorously immersive songs bedroom-pop style. He sometimes borrows from the ethereal aesthetic of dream pop, and other times from dense neo-psychedelia to build rich and modern arrangements. 3.
