Vale of Amonition is a doom metal band out of East Africa; formed in Uganda, molded and shaped in Kenya, drawing from traditional and extreme doom sources such as Black Sabbath, Solitude Aeturnus, Solstice, My Dying Bride, Novembers Doom, Katatonia, Type O Negative, to list but a few. The band has been able to fearlessly forge a wholesomely dark and intense stance covering three full length albums - THOSE OF METAL AFAR, THOSE OF TARTAREAN ANCESTRY and now IMMORTALIZING THE LUGUBRIOUS, or THOSE OF EVOLVING DESPAIR - and two EPs, INFERNAL SUPREMACY and ANCIENT, EVIL & AFRICAN. Moving from rather chaotic so-called "avant-garde" forays into metallic mayhem on their earliest releases, the Vale has since shifted into utterly bleak territory that is gloriously underscored with tribal menace. Always forward-thinking and progressively inclined, the new album rounds out the band's ambitions thus far and provides us all with their most complete record yet.
