VVAVES (born 1995) is a singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. VVAVES was born and raised in Halifax, Canada. She started composing songs at the age of 10, teaching herself to play instruments to write and make YouTube cover videos. VVAVES moved to Europe alone when she was 15. She traveled after finishing high school in Canada and also Germany where she began writing for and with other artists. In 2018, VVAVES signed to Universal Music Group.
