At 19, Colombian singer-songwriter VALÉ is a living X-ray of everything it means to be young, talented and Latina in 2021: obsessed with music and popular culture, capable of spontaneously alternating between Afro-Caribbean loops and the American mainstream. VALÉ sings and raps, whispers, denounces and purrs. She begins a song in Spanish and qualifies a single verse with tasty additions of North American slang. Her inspiration process is ecumenical and liberating. In a second she can go from Kali Uchis to Tito Puente, from Shakira to Doja Cat. She is a cosmopolitan artist, but blessed with a raw sincerity that is revealed at all times in her songs and in dealing with fans.
