uxu kalhus are a Portuguese group that label themselves as trad-folk-rock, radical trad, subversive folk, progressive "baile" with chameleonic sounds. A fusion of styles, rhythms and melodies, where the rules is: there are no rules! They formed in 2000, and their debut live was at a French festival of traditional dances. Initially they were just a duo: CPPP (Celina Piedade & Paulo Pereira). Over the years they have grown, and now they are: Celina Piedade (voice and accordion), Eddy Slap (electric bass), Luís Salgado (drums), Paulo Pereira (horn section), Tó Zé (strings), Tony (percussion - guest) and Winga (percussion - guest).
