Urban Funk a sax focused jazz band creating the sound of Funk Fusion. SaxMan Wayne Sulc has been playing in the Washington DC metropolitan area for over 30 years and has worked with a number of local and regional favorites. Now leading his own bands, this project included 19 musicians who are all Washington Area Music Association heroes and are notable in their own right. Tommy Lepson is a multi WAMMY winner and Hall of Fame reciepient vocalizing on 4 of the compositions , his participation crowns this effort , Paul Bell , guitar , tours with the NightHawks, John Thomakos on drums is currently with Cirque de Soleil, Steve Wolf on stand up bass is currently with Swingspeak and spent a great deal of his time supporting the great Danny Gatton, Chuck Underwood; guitar, has toured with Patti Labelle, backed up James Brown and continues to wow audiences throughout the area. Steve Long a multi talented keyboardist composer and arranger is one of the area's most sought after musicians and made significant contributions to this project. John Cocuzzi is known world wide for his vibraphone mastery. Jennifer Smith on vocals heads up Naked Blue and shares the stage with bassist Mike Davis. Bassist Ronnie Newmeyer now a local emprasario with Band House Gigs has been playing the washington music scene with all the great Rythm & Blues acts along with Chuck Sullivan on drums.
