Early days Upskirts was started by a growing urge to go ape shit once in a while and it was all initiated by a call from Jack to Haffy: -"Do you wanna start a band?" -"Sure". Jack had been playing guitar for a while, so his role was set. Haffy couldn't produce a single note on an instrument if his life depended on it, so vocals was the obvious choice. After a while they were joined by two of Haffy's room mates, Kim and Bongo. Kim had just recently started playing guitars but Bongo hadn't played drums since primary school and had to buy a drum kit on credit. But that wasn't going to stop the band. Shortly after settling on the name Upskirts they were joined by Curly (Robert from Graabein) on bass. Based on their playing style and lyrical content they coined the term "Dirty Fuckin' Rock 'n' Roll" to describe their genre. This also became the name of their first recording - now known internally as "the recording we don't talk about". Not long afterwards they also recorded a new EP, "Groupies". Changes After recording "Groupies" conflicting schedules led to Curly leaving the band. Shortly afterwards Slow Ed took over bass duties. Ed brought an even dirtier sound and personality into the band and they went to the studio for the third time and recorded the EP "Sidewalk Susie". This EP contained 2 re-recordings, the truly dirty "Barely Illegal", the hard and loud "Bleed For It" and the crazy and super aggressive "No Compromise".
