UNIVERSITY, a punk-noise quartet, creates music that blends scything, catchy punk with gargantuan rock reminiscent of early Biffy Clyro. Their debut album, McCartney, It'll Be OK, showcases this style, including tracks like "GTA Online". The band also incorporates "blackened ten-minute monsters" and explores a wider range of emotions, moving from intense to more lighthearted They are from Crewe where the band admits there is no music scene. So Ewan (bass / synths), Zak (guitar/vocals), Joel (drums) and Eddie (Xbox 360) play to have fun together, hence including having Eddie gaming onstage. UNIVERSITY’s sardonic humour melds into their music. After signing to Transgressive and taking the ‘business side of their operation’ more seriously, they decided to offset this grown-up attitude by pushing their music to more extreme and more absurdist places.
