United State (not STATES) of Mind is a guitar-heavy new rock collaboration borne of a revolving group of classic rock musicians that had already been playing for decades with various bands in various related genres. They formed officially in the early 2000's and typically play in the Elkton/Chesapeake/Rising Sun, MD and Philadelphia, PA areas with local bands such as Ballyhoo. Their music ranges from the forlorn (Life Goes Bye) to the funky (I Don't Care) to melodic rock (Stay, C'mon, Stay), with a few punk-influenced tracks and comedic stylings thrown in for good measure. Ed Wells does the majority of the sound engineering and arrangement for the band at his home studio, and all members contribute songwriting. The band received some limited radio play in Maine and in parts of the UK.
