Unite Tribe are a seven piece band from North Co. Dublin. Formally known as the "Rastafenians" they have been together since September 2004. The bands influences range from pink floyd to dj shadow but "the tribe" classify themselves as "new wave reggae". Their unique sound and has caught the ear of music lovers and their live performances have impressed audiences all over Ireland. They have just finished recording their debut album "enlokari" which is due for release Feb '07. The album has 11 tracks, and was recorded in Rush, Co.Dublin. It was produced by Wayne Sheehy and engineered by Andy Knightly. The band got together to jam in September 2004 with nothing more than the intention to play some reggae and have fun. it wasn't long, however, before they realised that their wide ranging influences pushed them beyond the bounds of conventional reggae. They soon began writing original material that seemed to mould all these influences into something "the tribe" like to describe as "new wave". The first of their songs was "Head Police", and in this song, in its sound, the band found the direction in which they all feltcomfortable to go. Over the next year the band began playing live shows under the name "Rastafenians". With each show more and more original material was introduced until their set comprised of only original songs. The decision was then made to change the name of the band from "Rastafenians" to "unite tribe". Next, they set upon the task of recording their debut
