UNDER THE COUNTER was formed in 2002 by four students at the Meiji Gakuen University. Their first album "POOL OF CIDER" went in 2005 on sale. In november 2005 they made their major debut with their third release and first single "HIGH WAY, MY WAY" under CROWN RECORDS. By the end of 2009 both bass-player Osumi Tomotaka and drummer Yamawaki Yuko announced they will leave the band. Sekiya Kentaro and Yoshimura Yohei however are still continuing with the two of them.
