Uncommon Knowledge is a weekly 30-minute public affairs show hosted by Peter Robinson, former speechwriter for then-Vice President George H.W. Bush and President Ronald Reagan. It was first co-produced and presented by San Jose, California station KTEH (a part of PBS) from 1997 to 2005. It was distributed at that point by American Public Television and later by PBS to public television stations throughout the U.S. and internationally by NPR Worldwide. From 2008 onward, the Hoover Institution, a conservative think tank, began presenting a set of new webcasts with Robinson using the same format. These premier on the conservative website National Review Online in five parts through the week before being published completely on the Hoover Institution's website. They are also available (completely) as free podcasts on iTunes. The show typically consists of one-on-one interviews with experts on various socio-political topics, although sometimes up to three guests will come in. Robinson asks questions and posits devil's advocate–type arguments. He will moderate discussions when more then one guest is present. After several segments, the show concludes with Robinson asking the guest(s) to predict what the future holds for the issue in question.
