Uncle Frankle is a young indie rock band from Utrecht, the Netherlands. Their debut EP ‘Triple A-side’, released in 2009 and produced by Jordi Langelaan (sound engineer Racoon) and Arend van der Zee (ex-manager Racoon, Birdsong Music), met with positive acclaim. The band were proclaimed Local Hero by LiveXS music magazine and played in virtually all the well known venues of the Dutch club circuit, including gigs as support act for bands like Razorlight, The Rascals and The Rakes. Uncle Frankle was even selected for the Popronde festival. With thirteen shows throughout the Netherlands they were the most booked band of 2009’s edition. From early on Uncle Frankle aroused interest in Germany. In 2008 they were booked for the famous Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, where they played alongside bands such as Blood Red Shoes and Foals. Since then they have returned to Germany several times, performing live in Hamburg, Hannover and other places. In the spring and summer of 2010 the band focused on writing new material. They spent the summer in Germany to finish the remaining songs for their new EP. During this writing process, their music reached a new level, creating a more interesting, layered and atmospheric sound. In October the band went into the studio to record their selection of new songs with producers Jordi Langelaan and Arend van der Zee.
