Artist
Born in 1968, in Tallinn, Estonia, Uku Nurk's ethnic and experimental music consists elements of oriental music and estonian ethnic music. Many arrangements consist live instruments and his voice, witch he uses not for singing but as an instrument. Due his analoq equipments, there is a lot of melancholic tracks as an expression of long Estonian winters. Uku Nurk started making music when he studied metal art in Tallinn Art Academy. Lot of tracks are never published or played, music was more like a diary of thoughts, as melodic paintings or impressions. Melopainter's project is one of his lastest doings, adding video to his melodic thoughts. All tracks Uku Nurk made - is like a one-man group, multitracking different effects and instruments. Must be said, that most of music, Uku Nurk made, has no signs of mainstream electronic music: no drum, no base and not even a solo instrument. Some people had said, that Uku Nurk's music is like a soundtrack for life.
