UWANOSORA/ウワノソラ was formed in 2012. The band has a side project called UWANOSORA'67/ウワノソラ'67, dedicated to Eiichi Ohtaki/大瀧詠一. Members Megumi Iemeto (いえもとめぐみ)- vocals Hirohide Kadoya (角谷博栄)- guitar, songwriting Tomomichi Oketa (桶田知道)- guitar, songwriting Oketa left the band in 2017. Formation Kadoya and Oketa were good friends in university. Kadoya wore a 山下達郎 concert hoodie to school. Oketa asked if he liked the man and they realized their music tastes were so similar. Iemoto was invited to be in their band after she made a demo tape with a cover of EPO's キミとボク to audition for a performance at the university's open campus stage. They heard it and invited her to join the band. UWANOSORA is often influenced by AOR, city pop, soul, and other genres. Eiichi Ohtaki has been a big influence for them as well as Phil Spector and the The Beach Boys.
