U2 and B.B. King are respectively an irish rock band and american blues guitarist. Their collatoration is best known for the song "When Love Comes to Town", a song that is written by the leadsinger of U2, Bono, to B.B. King. The story of the song begins in 1987 when B.B. King was in Dublin, Ireland to play a concert. Before taking to the stage B.B. King's manager told him that U2 would be attending. After the concert U2 came to B.B. King's dressing room for a talk. About the meeting B.B. King told Melody Maker (Jan. 29, 1990): "I was really, really nervous. I tried not to think about it on stage... When I go to the dressing room, I'm told U2 is here. 'Oh, God, they were here.' They seemed to be kind of in awe of me, and I was just as nervous, meeting them. We had a nice chat, and I said to Bono, 'Sometime when you're writing a song, will you think of me?'" Later the same year U2 would be touring the United States as a part of their "Joshua Tree" tour. In Ft. Worth, Texas B.B. King teamed up with U2 to play the song "When Love Comes To Town" that Bono had written as a result of their meeting in Dublin. B.B. King was then invited to join U2 for the closing concert in Arizona. As a result B.B. King is featured in the documentary film about U2, "Rattle and Hum" and when U2 in the fall of 1989 began their "Lovetown World tour", B.B. King would, besides playing "When Love Comes to Town" with U2, be the opening act, spreading the gospel of blues to the rock audience of U2. "Whe
