"We are not the ruling race, but we stand on the peak of destruction and with the “desire to have it all” destruction is the only thing that gives us answers to our endless questions." Neocrust band from Budapest, Hungary - members of New Dead Project, Wasted Struggle, Crippled Fox, Icaros and more. They formed in 2010 and released a demo in 2011 fall, by a different line-up. After some changes, with 2 singers and a new guitarist they recorded a full lenght 5 song album in the summer of 2012, called "Empathy Test". Some words from the band, about the "story behind the album": “Empathy Test” comprises 5 songs in about 30 minutes, an elegiac chronicle of the dark times when we constantly have to struggle to survive as humans amongst a society of robots organized by the bosses. The name of the band and its texts were both inspired by Philip K. Dick’s book “Do androids dream of electric sheep?”. The monotony of the album’s texts is deliberate, and tries to follow the message, questions and effect that the book poses. Philip K. Dick was accurate about the future, our present, in his book written in 1966. We live in the times of loneliness, lack of emotions, barren environment and prison-like houses. The way in which we can distinguish between humans and animals from the new robot-humans is the empathy test. This is a central part of the book, so it became the name of our album.
