Tyller Gummersall began singing in public when he was 3-years-old. As a member of the local children’s choir, he was only supposed to sing the chorus, but Tyller stood on the edge of the bleachers belting out the entire song. He began guitar lessons with two-time National Flat Pick Champion Gary Cook at 8 and voice lessons with respected Los Angles voice coach Raven Kane Campbell at 14. Tyller wrote his first song when he was 9. Ty performed solo for the first time at a local 4-H talent contest at eight and started sitting in with professional bands for a song or two at 10. By the time he was 15, Tyller was playing lead guitar and singing professionally in local bands. At 17 he put together his first band to play originals for the Durango Arts Festival Street Dance. The band was composed of bass, drums, steel pedal and fiddle along with Tyller on lead guitar/vocals, he created all of the original arraignments as well. Part of Tyller's evolution was opening with a 6 piece band for the up and coming Nashville group KingBilly at the 600 seat Fort Lewis College Community Concert Hall. Now 20 years old, Tyller took a nearly 5,000 mile 3 week road trip through Texas ending in Nashville last winter, firmly establishing a desire to make his music know in those areas. Ty was humbled by the experience of being back-stage at the Grand Ol Opry with his mentor Gary Cook. Gary's group the Bar-D wranglers shared the stage that night with Charlie Daniels and many other legends. Continuing
