Tyl was born in 1994 due to a common love for music. Per Brekke, Jonny Sletten, Tom Rune Daae and Tom Eddie Borge made the first lineup. Tyl started making songs and covering songs from bands they where into at the time. Bands like Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilotes, Alice in Chains, Metallica, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, Foo Fighters etc. These influences can be heard in the music they make. Tyl sounds like Tyl, with a grunge, post grung feel to it! In 1996 Tyl recorded a demo record, with 6 of their own songs. Tyl headed back for some more in 1997 to record "Chilldish" and also in 1998 to record "Even Happened". Tyl have since the begining in 1994 parted ways with their first drummer Tom Rune Daae. Their second drummer Erik Hopen sadly had to move away due to a severe case of love and at present Tyl are fortunate enough to have Zsolt Meszaros. In resent years Tyl has had it`s base in Bergen and have continued to make songs. So many songs that they have material for several albums. Their first album is starting to take shape as we speak.
