トリオ・ザ・シャキーン (Trio the Shakiiin) is a j-pop trio consisting of members Higashiyama Noriyuki (東山紀之) of Johnny's Entertainment pop group Shonentai (少年隊), Morita Go (森田剛) of Johnny's Entertainment pop group V6, and Suga Kenta. They are a temporary group formed specifically to promote a Japanese TV series about a gluttonous detective, titled Kuitan 2 (or 喰いタン2), in which all three members are cast in. They perform the ending theme song of Kuitan 2, replacing the first season ending theme "Kesshou" by j-rock group B'z. Trio the Shakiin has released one single on May 30, 2007 under the Johnny's Entertainment label, entitled "Itoshi no Napolitan" (愛しのナポリタン) which is the title of the ending theme song for Kuitan 2. As for the meaning of "Shakiin" in their group name, it is an onomatopoeia of the main character's chopsticks as he makes an embellished attacking pose with the chopsticks right before seizing food or fighting crime.
