Trio Pagú is a Luso-Brazilian band that emerged in January 2004 with the desire to reinterpret Bossa Nova and MPB classics, seeking to merge these genres with European culture. Trio Pagú is composed of Alex Liberalli (voice, percussion and melodic), Budda Guedes (guitar and choir) and Nico Guedes (drums and percussion), mixing roots and cultures since its inception. Alex Liberalli is from Rio de Janeiro and has lived in Braga since 1989 and brings with him all the Carioca jinga, Samba, Bossa Nova, theater and MPB. The Guedes brothers; such as Budda Guedes (born in Covilhã) and Nico Guedes (born in Porto), have lived in Braga since 1981. In their musical background they bring Blues, Soul, Funk and Rock. These musicians from different cultures bring to Trio Pagú a unique and very unique sound. They unite bossa nova and samba with Portuguese and European music, giving the name to the style itself, MPBP - "Portuguese Brazilian Popular Music".
