Trio Da Kali unites three musicians from the Mande culture of southern Mali who come from a long line of distinguished griots (hereditary musicians). Formed of voice, balafon and bass ngoni, the Trio aim to bring a contemporary twist to ancient and neglected repertoires. Members: Hawa Kassé Mady Diabaté - vocalist Lassana Diabaté - musical director, balafon Mamadou Kouyaté - bass ngoni The current line-up of the Kronos Quartet is: David Harrington (violin), John Sherba (violin), Hank Dutt (viola), and Sunny Yang (cello). Former members include Jennifer Culp (cello), Joan Jeanrenaud (cello), and Jeffrey Zeigler (cello).
