Inspired by great musical artists and lyricists such as Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Bob Dylan and Neil Young, singer-songwriter Trina Collette delivers her music with authenticity and style. Trina was born in the summer of 1966 in a small town in New York at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Her music reflects her Celtic roots, a touch of country and contemporary sounds that have influenced her throughout her life. From early on, Trina was surrounded by music in her hometown. Her roots originate in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, where her great grandfather was born and raised. He settled in Northern New York in the early nineteen hundreds, bringing along his love for music and Celtic traditions. Trina grew up listening to her grandfather play old Celtic reels and jigs, and at home, she often heard the sweet sound of her mother’s voice singing along to radio tunes. Trina was the second to youngest of five girls. For fun, the girls would gather around their old upright piano and harmonize together for hours; this gave Trina the confidence to perform at her church and school’s choir. As a young adult, she traveled to Canada where she began to perform with local bands, including: Flyer, Dr. Friedman’s, Foundation Jam Band, and Loose Change. She had the opportunity to work with many musical talents and experienced many genres.
