Trico's roots go back to 2003. Under the name "Tricoror" the band made appearances on various compilations such as JUICE CD Vol. 1. In October of 2005, Tricoror changed their name simply to Trico. Trico take in influences from artists such as Radiohead, MOGWAI, and SigurRos. They could easily be defined as a shoegazer, space rock, or post-rock band. But, they don't overuse the elusive specter of sounds that other bands such as Walrus use. Trico will have songs reminiscent of that style but also will delve into simplistic acoustic tracks with no conceptual atmospheres that other bands of the same style use. Trico are signed to the label, misslinglink. Their first single was released in January of 2006, simply titled, trico e.p.. The single was shortly followed by their first album, flash!!color, in March of 2006.
