Originating from Antwerp. Formed in 1993, originally a trio that had to deal with several lineup changes (with guitarist Wim Dielen being the only constant factor). The name Transparent Curse was derived from a fragment of a book by Guy Bogaert (‘Wat kwaad doen de Tovenaars?’ -> a story about an insane asylum). This “youthful indiscretion” produced six demos; ‘Black Pussy’s’ - 1993, ‘At the Murder Party’ - 1995, (ref: Stage music magazine nº 6). ‘Duplicate of Alien reflections’ - 1996, ‘Sample One’ - 1996, ‘And then, there was Panic…’ - 1996 -> 100 copies sold (ref. ‘Dark Entries’ n° 15; “Heimwee allom, een prille The Cure of een sublieme Joy Division is nergens veraf...”), ‘Eine Symphonie des Grauens’ - 1996, a live video and several performances in and around Antwerp. In 1997 the tide turns and Transparent Curse becomes a five-man formation with a fixed lineup; Ellen De Smet - vocals, Dominique Audenaert - bass, Wim Dielen - guitar + vocals, Bert Kersemans - keys + guitar, Alex Claessens - drums + electronic percussion. Names such as Joy Division, Siglo XX, Trisomie 21, The Cure, The Names and New Order have therefore served as the main sources of inspiration. Gradually they manage to give it their own character and style. In addition to this,
