Trance Cult Riot formed in 1998 with the original line-up of Jon Glancy (guitar and vocals), Cyndi Adamo (bass and vocals), and Pete Walsh (drums). The band self-released one album before Pete left in January 2001. Trance Cult Riot continued as a two-piece with Jon taking over drumming duties. Cyndi and Jon recorded several new songs and re-recorded some old ones. These comprised an updated version of their self-released debut album. The band eventually added a new guitar player, Ethan Costello, for several shows. Jon and Ethan began jamming together and after joining with Abram Taber in 2001, Paraffin Section was born. Trance Cult Riot then moved into a period of relative inactivity as Cyndi moved to Connecticut and Jon remained in Massachusetts. The two members irregularly got together to rehearse and played a few shows, this time with friend Rick Surette (of Ochmoneks, Fetish Chicken and the Slurred Murrays) on guitar. The band currently plans on having at least one show every 6 months and the current line-up consists of Jon Glancy (guitar, drums and vocals), Cyndi Adamo (guitar, bass and vocals). There are also plans to add Degan (of Fetish Chicken and the Sovereign Nations of Old Constantinople) on drums. Jon has also recorded under the name Static Progression. Cyndi performs solo material, much of which has been performed by Trance Cult Riot, as cyndi@electrip.com and Alien 8. She also runs the DIY independent label, So Lo-fi, It's No-fi Records. User-co
