Tortoiseshell Male is supposedly a cat trapped in the body of an embittered 1940s genre detective. His story has been inaccurately told in the past by his former sidekick, who wrote a series of musicals depicting his adventures which you are no doubt already familiar with. However this is the first true account of what really happened to this most famous of private investigators. His alcoholism, his misanthropy, his failed singing career, his habit of maintaining cigarette induced blisters brimming with nicotinic acid in case he needs to stop hallucinating for some reason - all are laid bare in this shocking autobiography of semimelodic woe. He likes it when other people send him photos of cats. Music is constructed live with virtual turntables and digital percussion providing the main source of divination. Malfunctioning loops barely held together with string and itchy trigger finger on the effects buttons. Accidents happen. Vocal manipulations created off the cuff after years of neglect. Apprehension of future upheavals rides high, resting uneasilly in the stomachs of the much maligned cassette manglers. All disparations proved entirely inaccurate beforehand by a team of experts, the old locations lab reopened and old furnishings piled high with beakers fairly bubbling over with the red mist of happy mistakes.
