Torino 74 are a four piece punk pop band from Wakefield, England. We have been playing together since the end of 1998. Previous exploits of the Torino 74 members include Chopper and Don Fisher. May 1999 saw the first Torino 74 show at the sorely missed Springtime Studios in Wakefield. Since then, Torino 74 have played a handful of shows in the Leeds/Wakefield area, supporting some great UK and US bands. In October 1999, three songs were recorded at Soundstation Studios in Horbury, that found their way onto a 7 inch EP, entitled "Driver" that is available from Crackle Records. November 2000 Records 7 Track c.dat soundstation in horbury. Unfortunatly album never fully mixed or released. Playing only a handful of rare gigs over the next year or so Dan parts company with the group and Torino recruite new bass player "Jez". During 2002 again Torino 74 only play a few gigs with there final performance at the snooty fox in wakefield - August bank holiday week all dayer!! Here you have a band mixing up the UK melodic hardocre sound of bands like Broccoli (just check the cool vocals!) with the bouncy and repetitive guitars of Promise Ring circa "Nothing feels Good."
