Tony Vos (1931-2020) was an Eindhoven-born Dutch jazz saxophonist. A renowned arranger and compileer, Vos played modern jazz from the mid-1950s onwards in various trios and quartets. Vos won the AVRO Jazz Competition in 1953 en 1954. The best known recordings of the Tony Vos Quartet are perhaps their selections for the famous 'Jazz Behind The Dikes' LP series in the latter half of the 1950s, a series for Phonogram initiated by Vos himself.
