Tony Bennett & k.d. lang was the pairing of American singer Tony Bennett (died 2023) and Canadian musician k.d. lang. The pair's 2002 album, "A Wonderful World" won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. In the U.S., the album achieved gold record status, and reached top 40 in the UK. Tony Bennett (born Anthony Dominick Benedetto on 3 August 1926; died 21 July 2023) was an American singer of popular music, standards and jazz. After having achieved artistic and commercial success in the 1950s and early 1960s, his career suffered an extended downturn during the height of the rock music era. Bennett staged a comeback, however, in the late 1980s and 1990s, expanding his audience to a younger generation while keeping his musical style intact. He remains a popular and critically praised recording artist and concert performer in the 2000s. Kathryn Dawn Lang, OC , better known under her stage name k.d. lang is a Grammy Award-winning Canadian singer and songwriter. Lang was born on November 2, 1961, in Edmonton, Alberta, to Audrey and Fred Lang. The family moved to Consort, Alberta, when she was nine months old, and there she grew up with her two sisters and one brother on the Canadian prairie. Singing at country and western venues in Canada, Lang made several recordings that received good reviews and earned a 1985 Canadian Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist.
