Artist
Tony 70 is a band formed in 1998 that, inspired by black music, plays funk, soul and disco. After being support band for James Brown, Tony 70 was chosen again by another international artist, Jamiroquai. "Tony 70", the first record from the group, was recorded between 2003 and 2005. The tracks that are hits already, like "Simon Freak", "Dijiste mi nombre" and "Volando bajo" belong to this record, that also explores the Dance Funky, with songs like "Funky Star" and "Foxy Brown". Soul appears with all its expression in "Viaje", "El arte de mentir", "Libre Otra vez" and the Rock from the seventies on tracks like "Muchacho negro", "Bar Brooklyn" and "Todo lo que quiero de ti". This first album features important guests, like Deborah Dixon on backing vocals and Gustavo Giles on bass. The lyrics talk about night stories, streetwise characters, green fields, blood brothers, glitter and good living. With 8 musicians on the band, with a super retro look, their shows have the versatility to make people dance and have fun with the most catchy and original music within the 70's style. Parts of jazz and acid jazz make Tony 70 great for a romantic dinner. 5 stars nights, where there is glamour, sweet perfumes, the best cleavages, glitter and good living. Tony 70 is a different band within the argentine musical spectre and you can clearly see that. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
