Artist
For the last few years Tom “Snowball” Davis has been honing his musical craft on the open-mic scene of Glasgow, Scotland. Looking for musicians to help perform his material, Tom formed the group “Rags & Feathers” in late 2007 with the help of Andrea Tomlinson (of “The Metro-Gnomes”) and Ian Moy (“MiaBene and The Asthmatic Scene”). An Album, named The Other Side Of Morning, recorded in glorious analogue, was released via Lucky Number Nine Records in September, 2008. Some glowing reviews were obtained and several people listened to the record and enjoyed it thoroughly. Formerly guitarist of Beggars Banquet-signed garage-blues howlers Dead Fly Buchowski, Tom is now reknowned as one of the most idiosyncratic and quirky performers on the Glasgow song-writing scene. Specialising in ludicrously catchy melodies and heartbreaking lyrical content, Tom’s songs have the quality of worming their way directly to your soul and staying there. His tunes are at once catchy as the common cold and as delicate as cobwebs. Fans often complain of suddenly breaking into his tunes unbidden at the most inappropriate moments. Be warned, this could happen to you. Currently Tom is writing new material, and plans to record & release a solo album in 2009... Tom is also chief organiser of the regular Woodlands Creatures night at the Halt Bar, Glasgow, and co-presents and internet radio show of the same name with Mike Hastings.
