Artist
Tom Jessen grew up in Strawberry Point, Iowa. He began playing piano at age 8 and trombone at 11. In High School he taught himself guitar with a Beatles chord book and started writing his first songs. He attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City where he met many of his future band mates. While in college he divided his time between his art school studies and playing music with friends. It was only after school where he decided to concentrate on writing songs full time. His first batch of songs found themselves on his debut album "Redemption," in 1996 with a group he called The Dimestore Outfit. "The Outfit" were active from 1994-1998. After that time he embarked on a solo career and put out his sophomore effort "Night" in 2002. His third record "Hunting Season" is due out in 2014.
