Trevor Edmonds ( of Spectral Mornings and Conifer Rock ) moved to the Grand Rapids, Michigan area in June of 2006. Tim Warren ( of timwarrenmusic and the sleep'tils ) has lived here for quite some time. By chance, more or less, the two performed on the same bill in October of 2006 at Space Vs. Time. The combination of one man's dream, the others 'ability' to play the cello, and a shared interest in similar musics and aesthetics resulted in the birth of what is now known as Tokyo Morose. Erin joined on viola at the end of summer/fall 2007. After a cancelled sleep'tils practice which Erin was going to attend Tim suggested she play with Tokyo Morose for fun. The dynamic and more complete sound that Erin brought to the band had Trevor and Tim talking about ways to convince her to join.
