Born in 2007, To Kill a Monster is a group of 4 dudes with a pact, (*see bottom for said pact), wanting to do what they love for the rest of their lives. Their sound is an intense blend of super high energy alternative rock, dance, hardcore, punk and pop that’s full of rhythmic energy and originality which has come to be their unique signature sound. To Kill a Monster lives to be the band and the songs that are the soundtrack, energy and inspiration of everyone’s life. The band is comprised of Joey Lawson (vocals), Chris Lehner (bass and vocals), Tyler DeWalt (guitar and vocals), and Mike St. Laurent (drums and screams). With influences such as: A Day to Remember, The Offspring, House Of Heroes, Taking Back Sunday, Weezer, Every Time I Die, and more. The band went into Paper Tiger Studios (Attack Attack, The Crimson Armada, Of Mice and Men) in Columbus, OH to record their first major demo, which received an immediate response from fans and critics. This later was rewritten, with additional tracks and became the band’s First EP, recorded with Don Debiase (Driver Side Impact, Beneath the Sky, Epicurean, Luna Mortis, Forever in Terror) at Chin Studios in Cleveland, OH titled Bears Fight Bears, released in January 2010, on iTunes, CD Baby, and more. Each song that they create is a direct reflection of the life, love, fun, and feelings of everyone and everything around them.
