Future sound of Eastern Europe: Bratislava/Copenhagen based duo Tittingur looks firmly forward. Going against the ever present retromania, their sound is comprised of a new look on intense immersive electronics. Formerly a noise-rock band, their thick walls of sound are build around dark, brutalist techno foundations which doesn’t fall far from the zeitgeist sound of Amnesia Scanner, M.E.S.H. or Tim Hecker. After being signed by Exitab - the staple of new and upcoming Slovak sound, they released their acclaimed debut LAVINA. Their new album Beings, released in October 2018, presents an even more raw and unpredictable sonic world. Tittingur exists in a volatile resonant space, in direct opposition to the often cold structures of techno, their strained synth lines supplemented by abstract field recordings and (ir)recognizable noise samples make the embracing of the screaming void of sound and chaos strangely pleasant, like falling through the blackhole right before being squashed into pieces.
